PURPOSE: To prevent slipping of a shed by removing an old bonding material from the neck and supporting means of the shed, adding a new bonding material and then winding a plurality of binding tools around this new bonding material. ;CONSTITUTION: A thermo-compressive shed 14 provided at the end part 10 of a cable 12 is heated by a torch 16, until it is softened. The shed 14 is placed upside down, so that the layer 18 of the old bonding material at the lower side is exposed and can be removed. The original position of the shed 14 is recorded on the cable 12 by marking a mark 20. A band 22 of the new bonding material is added in the same width and in the same position of the old bonding material 18 on the cable 12. A binding tool 24 similar to a filament is wound for several turns around the bonding material 22 and cable 12. The shed 14 is placed again upside down with respect to the original position, so that the tubular part or shed 14 covers the new bonding material 22. Using a torch 16, the new bonding material 22 is heated and dissolved for bonding the cable 12 to the shed 14.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
