Piezoelectric ceramic material comprises a lead-strontium zirconate-titanate-manganate-niobate main component of specified composition and silica and alumina subsidiary components. A novel piezoelectric ceramic material comprises a main component of formula (PbaSrb)(ZrcTidMneNbf)O3, where a = 0.93 to 1.01, b = 0.01 to 0.04, c = 0.37 to 0.47, d = 0.48 to 0.58, e = 0.0105 to 0.06, f = 0.02 to 0.06 and 2e/f = 1.05 to 2, as well as 0.03-0.1 weight % SiO2 and 0.003-0.1 weight % Al2O3 as subsidiary components. An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for a sintered piezoelectric ceramic body, obtained by firing the above piezoelectric ceramic material in an oxygen atmosphere.
