PURPOSE: A method for generating a CAD model from non-aligned three-dimensional distance data is provided to form a NURBS curved network fast and accurately from non-aligned three-dimensional distance data. CONSTITUTION: In a method for generating a CAD model represented as a non-uniform rational b-splines(NURBS) curved plane by generating input data automatically from non-aligned three-dimensional distance data, an initial model is presumed. A hierarchic tree structure is generated to represent the initial model hierarchically. A square plane model is generated using the hierarchic tree structure. By using the square plane model as a parameter space, grating structure unit input data is presumed using a hierarchic division method.
