PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a barley or a wheat young leaf, a barley or a wheat young leaf powder or a barley or a wheat young leaf pressed juice powder having -aminobutyric acid (GABA) having hypotensive actions in the barley or the wheat young leaf at a high concentration. SOLUTION: A barley or a wheat young leaf is subjected to an anaerobic treatment and/or a heat treatment at 20-50 deg.C and further dried to provide a barley or a wheat young leaf powder or a barley or a wheat young leaf pressed juice powder having a high GABA content.
