Monitoring apparatus for detecting dioxine content of exhaust gas from refuse incinerator, motor vehicle, carries out mass spectrometry of ions from ion source which ionizes minor constituents in sample gas
Sample gas is introduced into an ion source and ionization of the minor constituents in the gas, is carried out. An ion trap mass spectrometer carries out mass spectrometry of the ions from the ion source. A data processor processes the signal corresponding to the measured ionic current, for monitoring minor components such as dioxines, chlorobenzene, etc. An Independent claim is also included for the sample gas monitoring method.
