Biosensor, used in surface plasmon resonance techniques, comprises surface layer of precious metal bound to a hydrogel, a surfactant or biotin layer via monolayer of organic molecules
The biosensor contains a surface layer of precious metal, to which is bound a hydrogel, a surfactant or biotin layer via a monolayer of organic molecules. The biosensor contains a precious metal coating on its surface, to which is bound a hydrogel, a surfactant or biotin layer via a monolayer of organic molecules. The organic molecules are of formula A-R-B. A = an atom or group which binds to the precious metal; R = a hydrocarbon chain with a chain length of up to 10C atoms, which may be interrupted by one or two phenylene groups or heteroatoms; and B = a group that connects the molecule to the surfactant, hydrogel or biotin. An Independent claim is also included for production of the biosensor.
