PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new compound, having a specific structure and capable of specifically and immunologically and rapidly, simply and economically monitoring bensulfuron-methyl in an agrochemical remaining in an environment or a food. ;SOLUTION: This compound is represented by formula I [(n) is 1-9] or its salt {e.g. 4-[α-(4,6-dimethoxypyrimidin-2-ylcarbamoylsulfamoyl)-o- toluylcarbonyloxy]butyric acid). The compound is preferably obtained by reacting, e.g. bensulfuron represented by formula II with a compound represented by formula III (X is a halogen or OH; R is a carboxyl-protecting group), carrying out the hydrolysis of the resultant bensulfuron derivative represented by formula IV with an alkali or an acid and then removing the carboxyl-protecting group.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
