PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composite hollow fiber membrane as a membrane to be used to remove dissolved gas from an aq. soln. which has excellent mechanical strengths with suppressed permeation amt. of water vapor and which shows high removing efficiency of dissolved gas, and to efficiently remove dissolved gas in an aq. soln. by using this composite hollow fiber membrane. ;SOLUTION: This composite hollow fiber membrane has a three-layer structure comprising a dense layer held between two porous layers, and the dense layer has a sea-island phase separation structure. One of the sea or island parts consists of a crosslinked structural body essentially comprising a silicone rubber, while the other consists of a thermoplastic polymer. An aq. soln. containing dissolved gas is supplied to one surface of a hollow fiber membrane while the other surface of the membrane is exposed to reduced pressure lower than the saturation vapor pressure so as to remove the dissolved gas in the aq. soln. In this method, the composite hollow fiber membrane is used as the hollow fiber membrane.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
