PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase selectivity and yield and to obtain a long service life by depositing transition metal compds. and alkali metal compds. on a metal oxide superstrong acid. ;SOLUTION: This catalyst is obtd. by depositing compds. of transition metals such as manganese and titanium and compds. of alkali metals such as lithium and sodium on a carrier inorg. oxide (oxide superstrong acid) supporting secondary oxides. As this method, the transition metal compds. ad alkali metal compds. are incorporated into the oxide superstrong acid and then calcined in air. The transition metal compds. and the alkali metal compds. may be deposited at one time or successively. Moreover, any of the transition metal compds. and alkali metal compds. can be used in a single state or their mixed state.
