PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a design method of a reflection curve shape of a reflection mirror of a horizontal light for imparting lighting light with a uniform and high illuminance distribution on a horizontal wall surface being a background wall surface such as TV studio, a theater as basic lighting light, the horizontal light designed by the same method and the method for controlling illuminance. ;SOLUTION: This design method consists of parabolic reflection curves 1, 1' having a main axis Y-Y', a first elliptic reflection curve 2 and a second elliptic reflection curve 3 or parabolic reflection curve, and is designed so that left/right differential coefficients in respective connection points a, b, c of respective different reflection curves are made the same, and prescribed sections containing the connection points are made be continuously differentiable. Then, the continuity and smoothness of the connection points of the reflection curves of the different reflection surfaces are shared, and the focal point f1 of the parabolic reflection curve having the main axis is made to coincide with the first focal point F1 of the first elliptic reflection curve, and a light source is arranged on the coincidence point, and the second focal point of the first elliptic reflection surface and the second focal point of the second elliptic reflection surface are arranged on the same optical axis.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
