Electrical entry control equipment for guest entrance area in hotels - uses same code entry to unlock main hotel guest entrance door and to unlock box holding key to hotel room. Guests are advised of code number before arrival.
The entry control equipment (1) involves a self-locking door (2) with electrical unlocking, which can be opened by hotel guests if they enter the appropriate code into a terminal (6) outside the hotel entrance. In addition, a key box (9) is fitted inside the hotel entrance to hold keys for guests arriving when the hotel reception is not staffed. The key box is also fitted with a lock which is opened electrically for a limited time if the correct code is entered. The same code can be used for both locks. The beginning of the time for which the key box is unlocked is dependent on the guest first closing the hotel door after entry.
