PURPOSE: To always stably obtain delicate topographic fluctuations and toporaphic maps with the accuracy of the unit of several cm regardless of the change of targets and the orbit for earthquake prediction, volcanic eruption prediction, and debris flow prediction. CONSTITUTION: This interference type synthetic aperture radar device is provided with antennas 1, 2, 3 mounted on flying bodies such as airplanes or satellites, emitting radio waves to the ground, receiving the reflected waves from the ground, transmission/reception sections 4, 5 outputting transmission waves to the antennas and inputting reception waves, an image process section 6 processing the reception signals, and a terrain extraction section 27 interference-processing 14 the output of the image process section 6, correlating and comparing 16 this image with the image of the same scene acquired previously, improving the correlation between two image signals, and extracting accurate topographic maps/topographic fluctuations on a real-time basis.
