PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the conversion efficiency of thin film solar cell and thin film solar cell array using a simple pre-processing or conversion efficiency enhancing means, e.g. means for irradiating light or applying a bias voltage. ;SOLUTION: Conversion efficiency of a thin film solar cell 1 is enhanced by subjecting the thin film solar cell 1 comprising a first p-type multielement compound semiconductor layer 4 serving as a light absorption layer, a second n-type metal oxide compound semiconductor layer 6 serving as a window layer, and an interface layer 5 of mixed crystal compound containing sulfur, ZnSe, etc., selected from II-VI compound to a simple pre-processing, e.g. irradiation with light or application of a forward bias voltage. Conversion efficiency of a thin film solar cell array is enhanced by additionally providing means for enhancing the conversion efficiency by irradiating light or applying a forward bias voltage.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
