PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an individual retrieval controlling method for a retrieved object by which only a required retrieved object can be instantaneously retrieved from a number of retrieved objects placed on a plurality of shelves, and the return state and the location of the retrieved object are surely controlled through a retrieval child machine provided in the retrieved object even when a plurality of retrieved objects are simultaneously returned to the same shelf stage of a same shelf or the different shelf stage of a same shelf. SOLUTION: A desired retrieved object 5 is retrieved and taken out through a parent machine 1a from a shelf 6 for receiving a plurality of retrieved objects in which a plurality of retrieval child machines 3 distinguished by the parent machine 1a such as a host computer and an identification code are individually provided, and the identification code reading error data of each retrieval child machine 3 are controlled for every shelf or every shelf stage when a plurality of retrieved objects 5 are simultaneously returned to the same shelf 6, and the identification code of unreturned retrieval child machine 3 is transmitted to the retrieval child machine 3 for every shelf 6 formed so as to control error data or every shelf stage to perform the return confirmation retrieval of the retrieved object 5 provided with the retrieval child machine 3.
