An open end spinning rotor has an aerostatic bearing spindle consisting of a housing which contains a rotating shaft having aerostatic axial and radial bearings. Here the shaft (5) has an attachment (2) which is free to oscillate and where the spinning rotor (1) is fastened at one end. Support of the attachment is achieved by a bearing formed as a slide or roller bearing which has at least the two-fold play (10) of the radial aerostatic bearing (11).
