PURPOSE: To achieve an economical operation of two power generation units with a different part of a fuel composition by a method wherein a specified formula indicating a fuel cost is used as purpose function and a time series composition ratio of the fuel to be used for power generation unit in the future is programmed with a computer to minimize the formula to control the fuel consumption. ;CONSTITUTION: There are power generation units 1 and 2 within an industry-owned thermal power plant. A gas is generated at gas generation equipment and consumed at a gas consumption factory B1 and after the storing of an excess thereof temporarily into a gas holder H, the residual gas is supplied to the power generation unit 1 at a flow rate FG1 and to the power unit 2 at the flow rate of FG2 to consume. The insufficient portion of a fuel at the power generation unit is covered by the fuel purchased from an outside source. The power recovered is supplied to a power consumption factory B2 in an iron works and the power is represented by a necessary power X. As so the cost of the fuel purchased from the outside source, a time series composition ratio of the fuel used in the individual power unit is programmed with a computer to minimize the formula to control the amount of the fuel used besed on the results.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
