PURPOSE: To provide a ground investigation method, by an S-wave generation device and a cone penetration device which are carried on a ground investigation vehicle, which solves a problem that a measurement and the movement of a measuring point require man power and time in conventional cases and to provide its apparatus by eliminating a situation that, in a ground investigation by S-waves, an in-hole vibration receiving meter is inserted down to a prescribed depth into a boring hole bored in the ground, that S-waves are generated by an S-wave vibration source installed on the ground, that the S-waves are received at every prescribed depth, that the received S-waves are sent to a measuring device installed separately on the ground as the waveform of a voltage so as to be analyzed. ;CONSTITUTION: An S-wave generation device 20 and a cone penetration device 30 are carried on a ground investigation vehicle 10. A cone 35a is penetrated down to a prescribed depth by means of the device 30. S-waves which are generated by the device 20 are received by a geophone which is built in the cone 35a, and their waveform is sent to a measuring instrument on the vehicle 10 so as to be analyzed.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
