摘要
In cross-section, the hull of the vessel is divided into central tanks (1) arranged between the two main longitudinal bulkheads (2), and lateral tanks (5) situated outside the latter and putting them out of range of a lateral impact. The lateral tanks are characterised by a horizontal bulkhead (7) arranged at a particular height in order to constitute a separate ballast tank (8) in the upper part and a cargo tank (5) in the lower part. This cargo tank (5) is protected by a lateral double-walled border filled with water to constitute a lateral protection but in particular a permanent ballast which keeps the pressure of the cargo of the central tanks below the pressure of the sea water so as to avoid any risk of spillage on running aground.
