PURPOSE: To provide a method and device to automatically attach a small object such as a package of chopsticks, etc., at a desired location on the side periphery of a container, for several types of containers which are fed continuously. ;CONSTITUTION: When chopsticks, etc., are attached under a wrapped condition on the side peripheral part of a lunch container, etc., by a tape T with adhesiveness, the container is set so that the upper surface of the container may be located at an upper reference position O1 which is previously set, for the fixing of the upper part of the tape T. Then, the lunch container P is set so that the bottom surface of the container may be located at a lower reference position U1 which is previously set, for the fixing of the lower part of the tape T. By this method, the attaching can be totally automatically performed when an accessory is attached on the side peripheral part of containers with various sizes such as the attaching of chopsticks to a lunch container, etc., for which the set position of the attaching has to be changed manually for a conventional method.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO
