The primary magnetic field generated by the current to be measured is compensated by magnetic field generated by the secondary current. A servo loop locks the secondary current to the primary current by means of an error signal measured by a field detector and by means of a secondary current amplifier. The output from each amplifier(2,3) is connected to terminals(12,13) of a magnetic core(M) measuring winding(11) via two switches(4,5). The amplifying device has two opposite sign inputs connected to a detector(1). Two other switches(6,7) are connected between one of the ends(12,13) of the measuring winding(11) and the outputs(Sc6,Sc7) of the current detector. USE/ADVANTAGE - As part of vehicle accumulator battery and generates positive or null output signals.
