The device (10) includes a developing unit (18) which dips the material (20) into a development solution and also has a drying unit (46) which blows air onto the material. The developing unit is held in a housing (12) which has an outlet opening (14) on the flow side for the material. There is a two part housing for the drying unit, divided along the flow path and has a supply opening for the material in one end. A connecting unit loosely connects the outlet opening in the developing unit to the supply opening in the drying unit. USE/ADVANTAGE - For developing photographic film, paper etc. The ability of maintaining the rollers of the drying unit is improved and the possibility of damaging the rollers during maintenance is reduced.
