The front of the hull (1) shape has air inlets leading to a pattern of outlet holes (6) spaced over the hull to form a carpet of bubbles between the hull and the water. The hole pattern is symmetric to the keel line to spread the air bubbles evenly. The airflow is provided by the ram effect of the motion of the boat and can be enhanced by a turbine inside the hull, and the suction effect of the water-flow past the hull. USE/ADVANTAGE - The air carpet is applied to that part of the speedboat hull touching the water at speed and reduces drag considerably.
