The process and equipment allows identification of 25 named types of drugs, including amphetamines, cocaine, heroin, LDS, etc., when laboratory facilities are not available. It includes (1) presumed indentifiaction of an unknown drug by a reaction in a single stage or in 2 or 3 stages; (2) differentiaion of druge belonging to a single pharmacological family and other cpds. of interest; (3) differentiation of drugs with identical functional groups; (4) elimination of possible interference; (5) differentiation of drugs which give the same reaction with a given colorimetric reagent which acts in non-specific or selective form; and (6) identification of a given drug by combined complementary reactions.
