PURPOSE: To finely engrave characters and the like on a plate by enabling a plloter to be used for cutting characters and the like into a masking sheet with means devised for employing such means as to provide a plastic layer easy to be cut open, an adhesive layer for the surface and the back surface of a valcanized rubber sheet and the like. ;CONSTITUTION: A plastic layer 2 and an adhesive layer 3 are provided for the surface and the back surface of a masking sheet main body 1 composed of valcanized rubber respectively, and concurrently a masking sheet A is so constituted that a separator 4 is temporarily attached to the adhesive layer 3. And when characters and the like are engraved on a stone and the like using the masking sheet A by means of sand blasting, the characters and the like are cut in the masking sheet main body 1 first by means of a plotter where a cutting edge is attached to a point. Next, the separator 4 is peeled off, and the masking sheet main body 1 is bonded on the engraving surface B of the stone and the like using the adhesive layer 3. And next, the characters and the like are cut out so as to be removed out of the masking sheet main body 1 along cutting lines (a), and sand blasting is carried out therein thereafter.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO&Japio
