PURPOSE: To provide the evaluation method which meets the actuality of the combustion characteristics of pulverized coal to be blown into a blast furnace and is exact, simple and inexpensive. ;CONSTITUTION: Combustion time B is determined by irradiating various kinds of the pulverized coals with laser beams and executing combustion tests. On the other hand, the hydrogen contents in the pulverized coals are separately determined and the relations between both are previously determined. The combustion characteristics of the arbitrary pulverized coal are determined by the hydrogen content in the pulverized coal in accordance with the mentioned above relations. The max. volumetric expansion rate may be determined in place of the hydrogen content.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO&Japio
