PURPOSE: To provide the subject support which enables a monomolecular film formed at a gas-liq. interface to be satisfactorily transferred, and to provide a method which enables a Langmuir-Bodgett film on a metal surface to exhibit functions given at a gas-liq. interface. ;CONSTITUTION: The support, used for transferring a monomolecular amphiphilic- -compd. film formed at a gas-liq. interface to give a built-up film, comprises a metal 2 and an ultrathin film 3 which is formed on the metal 2 in such a manner that an LB film 4 can be formed on the ultrathin film 3. The LB film 4 is built up on the ultrathin film 3 which has been formed in a thickness of 100Å or lower on the surface of the metal 2 in the process for producing the LB film 4 by forming a monomolecular amphiphilic-compd. film at a gas-liq. interface and transferring the monomolecular film.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO&Japio
