PURPOSE: To provide the subject support which enables a monomolecular film formed at a gas-liq. interface to be satisfactorily transferred, and to provide a method which enables a Langmuir-Bodgett film on a metal surface to exhibit functions given at a gas-liq. interface. ;CONSTITUTION: The support, used for transferring a monomolecular amphiphilic- -compd. film formed at a gas-liq. interface to give a built-up film, comprises a metal 2 and an ultrathin film 3 which is formed on the metal 2 in such a manner that an LB film 4 can be formed on the ultrathin film 3.
