Genomic VAC-beta-DNA and active fragments are isolated and nucleotide sequences determined by hybridisation with known fragments, selective cleavage with restriction enzymes, and identification of the prods. This material occurs at position 10q-11.2 of human chromosome 10 and is responsible for the development of multiple endocrinal tumours. USE - Used for detection of genetic pre-disposition to multiple endocrinal neoplasia type 2a (MEN-2a).
