Under the influence of an axial force (Fx) or through a component of the axial force of defined extent, the shaft (1) of the rotor (2) is biased relatively to the stator (3) in the shaft longitudinal direction, so that the rotor, at least in the shaft longituidnal direction and under all operating conditions, is clearance-free in its location relatively to the rotor. For introduction of the axial force on to the rotor, the end of the shaft is contacted by a pressure piece (4). This pressure piece is longitudinally displaceable within a recess (5) of the stator. The recess is formed by a bottomed hole arranged in the housing of the stator coaxial to the shaft. USE/ADVANTAGE - Electromotor used for driving pumps and compressors, of reduced dimensions, reliable in operation, and runs at low noise level.
