This invention refers to a fried, leavened, sweet dough dessert, like doughnuts etc, and a process to prepare then. The dessert is prepared starting with leavened dough based on natural, yeast added, in two successive phases, to a mixture of ingredients that include flour and sugar. When the last ingredient is added a last amount of natural yeast is also added that acts to increase the length of time that the doughnuts stay fresh after cooking.
