A bearing unit, with concentric inner (4,8,9) and outer (3,5,6) bearing rows, assembled in individual inner (9,6) and outer (8,5) races, supports a shaft (2) in a housing (1). The outer row inner race (6) and inner row outer race (8) are supported on inner and outer support elements (18,24) respectively, arranged on opposite sides of the bearing unit. The inner and outer support elements are flexible in the directions of first and second components (F1,F2) of a smallest operating load (F). ADVANTAGE - The bearing unit can accommodate large tolerances in the individual components.
