摘要
A stack of end stops (18) are housed in the chuck or gripper jaw (16) which is movable along a slideway slot. The end stops are urged outwards by springs (20) but are retained by shoulders (28). The maximum size of work will abut against the end wall (17) of the jaw; the minimum size will abut against the face of the full stack of projecting end stops; and intermediate sizes will abut against the face of one or more projecting end stops. Based on this principle the chuck will accept workpieces of different sizes with only a short clamping movement. USE/ADVANTAGE - Widely applicable to machine tool chucks and robot grippers for holding tools and workpieces. Rapid adaptation to different sizes with only short clamping movement. Simple design.
