In a pressurised-gas electric circuit breaker, at least one externally located sealing monitor (6) with reference volumes is provided, the sealing monitor (6) being connected to the sealed gas chambers of the circuit breaker and monitoring the gas sealing. The sealing monitor (6) has electrical contacts (8) which lead to a protection and reporting system which is housed in a control cabinet (4). In order to improve the functionality and maintainability, the sealing monitor (6) is fitted on a side wall (7) of the control cabinet (4), so that a connecting chamber (9), open on one side, for the electrical contacts (8) projects through an opening (10) whose edges (11) surround the connecting chamber (9) at a distance. The connecting chamber (9) supports a sealing collar (12) of elastic material, which covers the opening (10) in the wall (7) of the control cabinet (4). In addition, a connecting block (16) for the sealing monitor (6) is provided, in which the pipe connections (17, 28) for connection to the gas chambers of the circuit breaker and for maintenance and filling are located, which block (16) is mounted via separate supporting brackets (29, 30) on the side wall (7). In the pipe connection (17) to the gas chambers of the circuit breaker there is furthermore located a non-return valve, which closes automatically when the pipe connection (17) is removed from the connecting block (16).
