PURPOSE:To obtain the title article readily distinguishable from a copied product with the naked eye by applying a print pattern to a printable article which emits a luminescence of the printed pattern under ultraviolet rays and irradiating the luminescent article with black light to make the print pattern visual. CONSTITUTION:A printable article 1 (cloth or paper) is provided with a print pattern 2 composed of ordinary ink or coating compound observable with visible light, then supplied with a print pattern 3 comprising ink or coating compound containing a material (e.g. halide or sulfide as matrix composition) to become visual with ultraviolet light (e.g. black light) to give a luminescent article (original product). When the print pattern 3 is made by the above-mentioned method, since the luminescent article will not become visual with visible light, printing in the same color as that of the article or in a transparent color will not damage image of product, the article becomes visual under black light, is seen by the naked eye, is readily distinguishable from a copied product (imitation) and this article has inhibitory effects on the appearance of copied product.
