The liq. crystal display contains a matrix (4) of liq. crystal image elements with X and Y electrodes to which drive voltages are applied by drive circuits (2,3). A compensation voltage is superimposed by another circuit (1) to sharpen at least the leading or trailing edge of the liq. crystal drive voltages or to mask a waveform distortion by continually varying the waveform in at least one of the drive circuits. USE/ADVANTAGE - Reduces degree of cross-talk and are suitable for high quality image representation with uniform brightness.
