PURPOSE:To provide a composition having characteristics of a thermoplastic elastomer, being nonpolluting and excelling in biocompatibility, etc., by compounding a crosslinked natural rubber latex and a methyl methacrylate- grafted noncrosslinked natural rubber latex. CONSTITUTION:An MMA-grafted crosslinked natural rubber latex is produced by crosslinking a natural rubber latex with a crosslinking agent or an ionizing radiation and mixing the crosslinked natural rubber latex with methyl methacrylate (MMA) and irradiating the mixture with an ionizing radiation. An MMA grafted noncrosslinked natural rubber latex is produced by mixing a natural rubber latex with MMA and irradiating the mixture with an ionizing radiation. The above two polymers are mixed together to produce a composition which can be used as a thermoplastic elastomer.
