PURPOSE:To obtain a built-up film having superior functional properties by the Langmuir-Blodgett's(LB) technique without using aniline having a higher alkyl group by subjecting monomers selected among alkyl substd. anilines to electrolytic oxidation polymn. with an electrically conductive substrate as a working electrode. CONSTITUTION:One or more kinds of monomers selected among alkyl substd. anilines are used. An acidic aq. soln. and an electrolyte are put in a trough and the monomers are dissolved in a uonpolar org. solvent and poured in the trough. A substrate is continuously and vertically moved between the inside and outside of the trough while impressing constant electric potential on the substrate. By this operation, a film of the monomers is formed by the LB technique, electrolytic oxidation polymn. proceeds during film formation and a built-up film of a polymer is formed.
