A helical spring (8) is inserted between a conical bolt (2) and a threaded stopper (1a) in a suitably shaped bore (1) into the housing (7) of a rotary detonator carrier (6). An electrically insulated pole pin (10) projects into a smaller bore (12) from the detonator (9). The missile is armed by 270 deg. rotation of the carrier (6) until the pole pin (10) meets the telescopic contact (14,15) of an energy source (13) comprising an ignitor with a safety and storage circuit and target sensor. The arming spring predetermines the necessary acceleration time for such rotation, and if the time is insufficient the missile is not fully armed and a misfire occurs. ADVANTAGE - Securing and arming are rendered dependent on necessary predetermined min. acceleration of second and/or subsequent stages.
