The invention relates to a tower crane, preferably a crane rotating at the top of the tower, with winches for the lifting and crab travelling rope and with a top gantry to which the guy ropes or poles for the crab jib and the opposite-end jib are fastened, in which arrangement the supporting structure holding the winches for the lifting and crab travelling rope, the travelling crab, the load hook and the head station with fixed point of the lifting rope and deflection pulley for the crab travelling rope are parts of an assembly and transport unit. It is to be possible to quickly dismantle the novel tower crane into assembly and transport units suitable for road transport even when it is of a larger type of construction and also in restricted space conditions. For this purpose, the assembly and transport unit of the tower crane consists of the supporting structure for the winches, on which the rear side of the frame of the travelling crab is flange-mounted, and of the head station, which is connected to a supporting piece provided at the front side of the frame.
