The invention relates to a device for information and advertising purposes for mounting on or in buildings, on industrial plant, industrial equipment etc., having a housing (1) which consists of a frame (2) and a front and rear cover (3), the front and/or rear cover (3), provided with an advertising message, being formed by a transparent or translucent screen or the like, and components of an electrical illumination and/or an electronic display being arranged inside the housing (1). To create a generic device which makes it possible in a simple and rapid manner to replace defective electrical and/or electronic components without switching the entire plant so that no current passes through, it is proposed according to the invention that one or more guides (4) is/are fixed to the frame (2), on or in which guide(s) a mounting plate or the like or, respectively mounting plates (5) or the like is/are displaceably arranged which is/are equipped with electrical and/or electronic components (6) for the illumination and/or the display, passage openings (7), provided in the frame (2), being assigned to the mounting plate or the like or, respectively the mounting plates (5) or the like at least in the area of its front end or, respectively, one of its front ends, which passage openings are detachably closed by means of covers.
