PURPOSE: To enhance the stability to a hydrolyzing agent and oxidant by forming a microporous, asymmetric, hydrophilic membrane of polyaramide contg. a copolyamide having a recurring structural unit expressed by a specific general formula. CONSTITUTION: A nonproton polar solvent soln. of the polyaramid contg. the copolyamide having the recurring unit expressed by at least formula I, formula II, formula III or formula IV (Ar, Ar' denote bivalent arom. groups having the balance bond existing in para or comparable coaxial or parallel positions; R denotes a =4C lower alkyl group or a lower alkoxy group, a halogen atom; R' denotes methylene group, -O-Ar-O- group) is prepd. The soln. is applied as a liquid layer on a plane support and is then treated with a settling agent, such as water, by which the liquid layer is formed to the microporous, asymmetric, hydrophilic membrane.
