An electrical module is provided which displays its incorrect operation by means of a display unit. According to the invention, a circuit for activating the display unit triggers in the event of failure of the supply voltage. The display unit is supplied via a further circuit whose failure at the same time leads to failure of parts, which are necessary for operation, in the functional unit to which the module is allocated.
