The armoured vehicles protected against radiation incorporates a neutron protective liner between the armour plating and the personnel quarters, whilst a cushioning layer between armour and neutron protective liner has a far less specific weight than the latter and partly reflects shockwaves when hit by a shell thus in part compensating for bulging of armour plating. Cushioning layer consists of a foam material and neutron protective layer of a synthetic material, whilst an element e.g. B and/or Li is added to the latter material having an enhanced neutron capture crosssection.
