PURPOSE:To have mass spectra of a plurality of specimens in a short time by mounting two or more solid specimens independently on a specimen holder, allowing it to make parallel motion straight, and ionizing the specimens one after another. CONSTITUTION:For a thermally unstable specimen, it may be difficult to obtain a mass spectrum with reproducibility by only one run of measurement, so that a plurality of specimens 3 are placed independently on a single specimen holder 4 and put in parallel motion in the shorter transverse direction of beam. This allows momentary changeover, and a high speed particle beam 5 for ionization is fixed, so that the ion generating place is constant to permit the mass analyzing condition to be kept constant. This accomplishes a mass spectrum with good reproducibility.
