PURPOSE:To facilitate handling by unifying a read-only optical disk and a fixed type memory for read and write. CONSTITUTION:An English-Japanese dictionary system with a composite memory medium is composed of a CD-ROM disk 1 as an optical disk, a fixed type memory 2, a disk access means 3, a memory access means 4, a control means 5, a processing means 6, a holder 7, a composite memory medium driving device 8 and a reproducing device 9. The data base is stored into an optical disk 1, the retrieving information is stored in the fixing type memory 2 and the information is shifted through the memory access means 4 and the control means 5 into the processing means 6 beforehand. The composite memory medium is composed of the optical disk 1, the holder 7 to store the disk 1 and the fixed type memory 2 read and written by the means different from means above-mentioned and unified and handled. Thus, the information can be written, etc., into the memory medium.
