PURPOSE:To promote spreading and rooting of a shiitake (Lentinus edodes Sing.) fungus to a material wood and as well as log cultivation and cultivate the shiitake, by covering a bed log planted by shiitake using a specific method with a sheet-like shade-providing material woven while leaving in the state of thread material without weaving the ends and planting the bed log. CONSTITUTION:When bed logs planted by shiitake (Lentinus edodes Sing.) fungus are planted outdoors, e.g. in a ground or in a forest, a number of bed logs 1 planted by the shiitake fungus are combined like armor and planted to constitute block A and on the upper face of the block A thread material obtained by cutting a synthetic resin material (e.g. polypropylene) to fine width is used as warp and weft threads and then woven and a shade-providing material 2 consisting of sheet like woven part 5 having nonwoven part 6 left in state of thread material without weaving all or part of the end is applied to the bed logs so that the woven part 5 and nonwoven part 6 each surround upper face of the bed logs and side of the bed logs to cultivate the shiitake in promoting spreading and rooting of shiitake fungus.
