EACH OPTICAL ASSEMBLY INCLUDES A COMBINATION OF EYEPIECES, ROTATING PRISMS, TELE-OBJECTIVES PRODUCING ENLARGEMENT, ACHROMATIC RELAY LENSES FOR IMAGE FORMATION, AND PENTAGONAL ROTATING PRISMS LOCATED IN A FINAL STAGE. THE ADJUSTMENT TO TAKE ACCOUNT OF THE VARIATIONS IN THE DISTANCE BETWEEN THE ROTATING PRISMS AND THE WORKPIECE THAT ARE REQUIRED BY THE VARIOUS SIZES AND CONFIGURATIONS OF THE WORKPIECES, AND BY THE VISUAL OPERATION OF THE OPERATOR, IS ENSURED FOR EACH OPTICAL ASSEMBLY USING SEPARATE MANUAL CONTROLS ON THE OPERATOR CONSOLE OR WITHIN THE OPERATOR'S IMMEDIATE REACH.
