A mechanical monitoring and/or securing device for the operative position of electric or electronic proximity switches, mounted on aperture closures, for example on windows, doors, hatches or the like, in object-monitoring and intruder-alarm systems is proposed. In such systems, the contact part is fastened to one element of the aperture closure, for example to the fixed frame of the window or door, and the release part is fastened to the other element of the aperture closure, for example to the wing of the window or door, in each case. For this purpose, a supporting or abutment bracket 23 is fastened to one element of the aperture closure, for example to the fixed frame 1, and an adjusting stop 24 is attached to the other element of the aperture closure, for example to the wing 2. At a distance 30 in front of the closing plane 31-31 of the aperture closure exceeding the response distance of the proximity switch 17, the supporting or abutment bracket 23 carries a supporting stop 28 which is located in the run-in path 27, 26a of the adjusting stop 24 and which is followed in the direction of the closing plane 31-31 by a slot-like or groove-like guide gate 26 for receiving the adjusting stop 24.
