Tour de France is a parlour game which reconstructs the progress of staged cycle races. The racers move over a circuit arranged in a different manner by the players before each stage. The movement of the racers is provided by dice. The dice are also used to assess time differences at the finish. These time differences are expressed in units of time by virtue of a simple conversion whose base unit is established at the start of the round by the players. The dice also make it possible to introduce the idea of racing in teams. The multiple uses of the dice thus make it possible to compete simultaneously in several categories (in terms of time, in terms of points, in terms of teams), the synthesis of which will provide the winner. This is the fundamental strategic side of the game. The aspect of the unexpected and of sudden new developments is provided by the use of cards (pushing from behind, screening for drugs) specially designed for this game. IMAGE
