The corrosion-inhibiting mixtures comprise a mixture of (A) at least one oil-soluble, mutual or basic alkali metal salt or alkali earth metal salt or complex of at least one organic acid and (B) a nitrogen and boron-containing mixture which is the reaction product of at least one amino alcohol, at least one substance selected from a boric acid or boron trioxide, and at least one organic carboxylic acid. Such mixtures exhibit superior corrosion-inhibiting properties, in particular when they are incorporated into preserving oil formulations. In addition to the nitrogen and boron-containing mixtures, the mixtures can contain a mixture of calcium and barium salts of one or more organic sulphonic acids. Oil products which consist of oil which is mixed with the corrosion-inhibiting mixtures, and processes for inhibiting the corrosion of metal surfaces which have been coated with the oil products are also described.
