Bacteria, yeast cells, red blood cells and other unicellular entities are used as a solid support or carrier for the attachment of sensitizing agents such as antigens, antibodies, nucleic acids, amino-acids, haptens, immunogens, receptors and the like. The coupling agent consists in a glutaraldehyde solution at 2.5%. Sensitized unicellular organisms are useful in immunizing procedures, in diagnostic tests based on the use of a sensitized solid phase and in affinity separations.
